The holiday seasons is meant to bring out the best in people. Even to reveal their gift-wrapping abilities.
That doesn’t leave me very high up on the chart.
I’ve watched countless “how to” videos, carefully tracking every move made; attempting to measure tape strands and holiday-themed wrapping paper, and calculating its placement; and remembering how corners are elegantly folded to avoid the dreaded crinkle.
It’s an art.
And for me, it’s entertaining to look at or watch, but not as easy to mimic.
It’s safe to say I’m no artist in gift wrapping.
What takes these so called professionals less than 1 minute to wrap one gift, it takes me 5.
So, 3 hours and two rolls of Scotch tape later, the gifts are nearly wrapped.
I have a few more left. I need to buy more tape.
Why spend so much time on something that will be torn to shreds in 10 seconds?
Next year, I plan to outsource my holiday wrapping.
Any takers?
