1 year down, 268 days to go

Today marks one year since he asked and I said “yes.”

To this guy ….

Mike at friend’s July 4 wedding in Moorestown.

It was a wonderful, vibrant, fast-paced year.

I wish I could jump in a time machine and watch the entire thing as a spectator munching on popcorn while balling my eyes out.

There are times I wish that we recorded the next phase in our lives, but who needs a camera when you have a writer. And in a time where most people spend time stuck behind an electronic device, more concerned about sharing every moment in their life up for everyone to see and missing out of the joys of life, I think it was the best thing that we kept the details of that moment off of social media.

If you ask me how it happened, I will tell you. But I don’t want to flaunt the best surprise in my life all over the Internet.

But ask and you shall receive.

Now it’s crunch time. We have all our ducks in a row – the venue, caterer, music, wedding officiant, and most importantly the booze. Now it’s time to brief the backup for deployment – invitations and save-the-dates, finishing the centerpieces, attire (for the guys because I jumped the gun and finished mine weeks ago),  the cake . . . . and the list goes on and on.

It’s safe to say that we’re not in a rush to get the “little” things out of the way. We’re taking our time to enjoy the moment.

Now, let the countdown begin!

Cheers!
